How to Crop a PDF — Step by Step

Cropping removes unwanted margins, headers, footers, or whitespace from PDF pages. Doclair applies a crop box to every page, resizing the visible area without discarding the original content.

2. Set the crop margins — top, right, bottom, left — in pixels or millimetres. Doclair shows the current page size to help you calculate.
3. Preview the cropped result. Adjust values until the framing is right.
4. Click Crop and download the updated PDF. All pages are cropped uniformly.

Does cropping permanently delete content?

No. PDF cropping changes the CropBox property, which tells viewers where to display the page. The original content outside the crop area is still in the file — it is just hidden from view. To permanently remove content, use Redact PDF.
